Your journey begins with a warm welcome in Port Moresby and a stay at the luxurious 5-star Stanley Hotel. Along the Kokoda Track, you’ll traverse lush jungles, cross rivers, and climb steep ridges, retracing the steps of those who fought during the Kokoda Campaign. Guided by experienced leaders and supported by local porters, each day brings a mix of historical landmarks, breathtaking landscapes, and cultural encounters.

The trek reaches its pinnacle on ANZAC Day, as you join a moving dawn service to honour the sacrifices made. Conclude your adventure with time to reflect, unwind, and celebrate at the Port Moresby Yacht Club, participating in traditional ANZAC Day activities.

    ON TREK

    • Kokoda Track Authority Permits
    • All village permit and campsite fees
    • All on trek meals including morning tea, afternoon tea, tea, coffee and milo. Please note our ability to cater for preferential diets such as Vegan, Vegetarian, Gluten Free, Dairy Free etc. is limited however we are happy to discuss options for medically related dietary requirements on request. Please note there is no refrigeration facilities on the Kokoda Track.

    • Daily comprehensive history briefings from experienced professional Australian Veteran Guides across the Kokoda Track campaign

    POST TREK

    • Post trek souvenir on successful completion of Kokoda Track
    • Internal flight to Port Moresby from Kokoda Village (dependent on North/South Trek)
    • Transfer from Port Moresby Airport to The Stanley Hotel, Port Moresby
    • 1 night accommodation twin share at The Stanley Hotel, Port Moresby
    • Transfer from The Stanley Hotel to Port Moresby Airport on your departure for your country of origin
    Exclusions
      • Domestic airfares from your country of origin
      • International airfares from your country of origin
      • Costs associated with obtaining a PNG Visa - ICSA (Immigration and Citizenship Service Authority Papua New Guinea). Visa can be obtained on line https://evisa.ica.gov.pg
      • Costs associated with obtaining a passport. (Note you must have a valid passport with no less than 6 months to any passport expiry date.
      • Cost and expenses if you leave the trek of your own volition, due to illness/accident or as a consequence of action by the government of Australia or PNG
      • Any additional night accommodation within PNG and any additional intra hotel transfers
      • Telephone calls/room service/drinks/lunch/dinner and sundry items when accommodated in Port Moresby
      • Personal Porter services. (A personal porter is strongly recommended. It mirrors the relationship of Australians and the Fuzzy Wuzzy Angels. A personal porter will cost $750 and ensures additional employment for Papua New Guinean Local Porter Team).
      • Any post trek celebration dinner, drinks or associated transport. (These can be arranged at an additional cost at the request of your trekking group).
      • Laundry fees
      • Personal trekking equipment or items as listed on the recommended equipment list
      • Personal medication and personal first aid items as listed on the recommended equipment list. (Please note there is no access to chemist or pharmacy stores once on the Kokoda Track).
      • 75 Litre back pack to carry your supplies (can be hired from Pacific Star Adventures should you not wish to supply your own- highly recommended. Hire fees $100 AUD including post trek launder).
      • Costs and expenses associated with obtaining pre trek medication or vaccinations (e.g. anti malaria/tetanus)
      • Cost and expenses associated with obtaining a medical clearance from a qualified physician
      • Any on trek sundry items such as soft drink, twisties or locally made products such as Billum bags/hats/beanies. (Trekkers are recommended 300 kina (less than $150 AUD) for on trek sundry items should you wish).
      • Retiring from the trek or early trek departure including evacuation will incur additional costs
      • Any cost associated with obtaining suitable travel insurance for the duration of your trek
      Please note
        • Confirmation will be received at the time of booking. 
        • This activity requires a medical clearance from a qualified physician due to the Kokoda Track being a remote jungle experience. 
        • Travelers should be in strong physical condition. 
        • It is not wheelchair accessible. 
        • The trek will have a minimum of 6 and a maximum of 16 participants.
        What to bring

          BACKPACK ITEMS

          • 1 x 70 Litre Backpack.
          • 1 x 30-40 Litre Day Pack- Back Pack (Only if you have a personal porter).
          • 1 x lightweight sleeping bag and sleeping bag liner.
          • 1x lightweight sleeping matt/bed roll.
          • 1 x small lightweight trek pillow.
          • 1 x cutlery set including coffee mug/plate/bowl and cutlery set - (Write your name on each item).
          • 1 x Head lamp and sufficient batteries.
          • 1 x 2 litre water reservoir (Camelback).
          • 1 x 1 litre water bottle (for hydrolyte mix and purifying).
          • 1x Lightweight towel or sarong.

          SUGGESTED SPARE CLOTHES (Inside 70 litre backpack)

          • 1 x Shorts/ hiking trousers/ tights.
          • 1 x Shirt.
          • 3 x Pairs socks.
          • 3 x Pairs underwear/bra/crop top.
          • 1x Pair of camp shoes (Adventure sandals/crocs/thongs).
          • 1x Swimming costume (optional- or swim in your clothes- they get washed and its less weight to carry).
          • Sufficient stuff sacks/dry bags/zip lock bags.
          • Snap hook/Caribbean hooks for attaching camp shoes to outside your pack.

          SUGGESTED CLOTHING FOR NIGHT (Inside 70 litre backpack)

          • 1 x Lightweight long leg pants/compression tights.
          • 1 x Lightweight long sleeve shirt.
          • 1 x Lightweight rain jacket (For in camp).
          • 1 x Beanie/gloves.

          CLOTHING FOR WEARING/WALKING

          • 1 x Shorts/ hiking trousers/ tights.
          • 1 x Shirt.
          • 1 x Pair socks.
          • 1 x Pairs underwear/bra/crop top.
          • 1x Pair of hiking boots.
          • 1x Pair Gaiters.
          • Sunglasses.
          • 1x Sun hat.
          • Trekking poles.

          MEDICAL / FIRST AID

          • 1 x Packet Pain Relief/Panadol/Neurophen.
          • 1 x Packet Laxatives.
          • 1 x Packet Antihistamine (Tel fast).
          • 1x Foot care/Blister Pack (Tape, Second Skin blister bandages).
          • 1 x Tweezers.
          • 1 x Foot powder.
          • 1 x General Antiseptic Cream (betadine).
          • 1 x tube Bepanthem cream or similar cream for anti-chaff/water barrier cream.
          • Sufficient Water Purification Tablets/ water filtration system (All water must be filtered).
          • 1 x Packet Salt Tablets.
          • Electrolyte Tablets.
          • 1x Packet Imodium.
          • 1x Packet Gastro Stop.
          • 1 x Packet Anti-Inflammatory (Nurofen).
          • 1x packet of Ural (Urinary Tract Infections are possible due to salt disturbance).
          • Personal supply of water proof Band Aids/Strapping Tape/Stop Itch/Mosquito Repellent/ bandages/ Compression bandage.
          • Personal supply of Antibacterial Hand Sanitiser.
          • Glucose Jellybeans or Glucose Tablets.
          • Assorted Bandages for skin breaks, infection and other trauma related injuries.
          • Personal Prescription Medication such as Malaria, antibiotics.

          Note: There are bees on the track, if you require an EpiPen, you should carry it on your person.

          TOILETRIES

          • 1x Small soap.
          • 1 x Small toothbrush.
          • 1x Small toothpaste.
          • 1 x Small Sunblock.
          • 1x Small hair brush.
          • 1x Small Shampoo/Conditioner.
          • Sufficient supply of toilet paper or wet wipes for duration of trek.
          • 1 x Small deodorant (Roll on is easier to carry).
          • Female Hygiene Products (Note Sanitary Pads are useless when undertaking river crossings).
          • Note- use a zip lock bag for toiletry items rather than heavy or bulky toiletry bags.

          ADDITIONAL ITEMS (AS YOU SEE FIT)

          • Lollies, muesli bars or assorted snacks- Keep weight to minimum what you take you carry.
          • Money (300 Kina in small denominations whilst on track)- Not including hotel expenses
          • Camera/ Phone/ GoPro etc
          • Spare batteries/ Power Packs/charge cables – Note Solar Power Banks have proven unreliable
          • Diary and pen for those who journal
          • A small pocket-knife, duct tape, super glue, cable ties for on trek repairs.
          • Zip lock bags /dry bags for valuables

          Most of all bring a positive attitude, a sense of adventure and leave your troubles behind.
